SOCAR opens first petrol station in Austria.

SOCAR officially opened its first petrol station in Austria last Friday in Graz. From now on the well-known SOCAR flame is also visible in Austria. At the end of 2017, SOCAR Energy Switzerland announced that it would take over the Austrian petrol station company A1. Over the next few years, the SOCAR brand will gradually replace the A1 logo.

In Graz-Eggenberg, SOCAR will open its first petrol station in Austria. In the past few weeks, the existing A1 petrol station at this location was completely redesigned for SOCAR. From now on, automobilists will be able to fill up with SOCAR's proven quality fuels.

Quality brand for Austria

Like in Switzerland, SOCAR in Austria puts fuel and the individual needs of its mobile customers first.   At a SOCAR petrol station you can get everything you need to stay refreshed and mobile. For the shop concept, SOCAR has entered into a partnership with the well-known supplier «Nah&Frisch punkt». The SOCAR flame is a widely visible sign of the best service in the petrol station and energy business.

Edgar Bachmann, CEO of SOCAR in Switzerland, is pleased: «For SOCAR, the opening of the first petrol station in Austria is another milestone. Since entering the Swiss market in 2012, SOCAR has developed into a leading energy company and mobility provider in this country within a very short time. We would now like to extend this experience to Austria.»

Sustainable growth ambitions

Following the successful market entry of SOCAR in Switzerland in 2012, Austria represents a strategic target market for SOCAR based on its targeted European growth plans. In Austria, A1 already had a leading position in the petrol station market. The further market development of SOCAR in Austria will be based in Graz. The next SOCAR petrol station will be opened at the end of July. Over the next few years, the total of 82 already existing A1 petrol stations will be gradually replaced by the SOCAR brand.
